InterContinental Phu Quoc: A Symphony of Art and Nature
At InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, art does not exist behind glass walls. It lives in every architectural curve, every reflection of blue across the water, and every rhythm shaped by wind and light. Every element has been composed like a symphony in which the ocean speaks and people quietly listen.
When Architecture Breathes with the Sea
From above, the resort resembles a sea turtle reaching toward the horizon, symbolising harmony, endurance and the deep bond between humanity and nature. The ocean-facing wings open to sunlight, allowing sea breezes to flow freely through every window, carrying the island’s signature scent of salt and warmth.
Walls inspired by sand and soft wave patterns mirror natural light as if water itself were in motion. Materials such as bamboo, wood and stone intertwine with tones of blue, beige and warm brown, reflecting architect Vo Trong Nghia’s philosophy of “living in harmony with nature.”
Art in Every Movement
Stepping into the resort feels like entering a sculpture shaped by the sea. Curved lines, oceanic hues and coral inspired motifs create rooms that embody both serenity and vitality. Each space evokes the sea’s calm pulse and emotional depth, enveloping guests in an atmosphere of quiet intimacy rather than grandeur.
In the shared spaces, artistic details draw inspiration from shells, palm leaves and schools of fish, creating the illusion of underwater motion. Light becomes a medium, space becomes a canvas, and people themselves become part of the artwork.
An Emotional Journey Between Sea and Creativity
Every restaurant, bar and spa within the resort serves as a “living gallery,” where light, sound and flavour converge to tell one story - the story of peace and inspiration born from the sea.
At LAVA, the coral stone bar captures the spirit of the ocean’s depth. At INK 360, the Kraken sculpture rises over sea and sky as guests raise a Phu Quoc pepper infused cocktail in a ritual of emotion and connection. Each experience adds a new layer to the artistic narrative woven throughout the resort.
Where Contemporary Art Meets Vietnamese Identity
InterContinental Phu Quoc has become a creative gathering place for contemporary Vietnamese artists. During the recent Lunar New Year, artist Dat Phan presented “At Ty Nhu Y,” a piece depicting a sea serpent hidden among radiant coral reefs, a visual blessing of prosperity and renewal for every guest.
Following him, Hanoi based artist Stung introduced a modern interpretation of Dong Ho folk paintings, blending cultural heritage with the light and rhythm of island life. These collaborations represent more than exhibitions; they are dialogues between art and nature, creativity and the spirit of Phu Quoc.
Local Soul in a Global Language
Art at InterContinental Phu Quoc is never a showcase of excess. It serves to awaken emotion and reconnect guests with their senses. Every detail, from textures to fragrances, invites travellers to rediscover the purity of the natural world, the sound of waves, the scent of salt, the glow of sunlight and the passage of time. Amid the rush of modern life, the resort stands as a sanctuary for the soul, a place where one can listen inwardly and rediscover simplicity through the harmony of art and nature.
