Tiger Express Returns in 2026 with a Luxury Rail Journey Supporting Wildlife Conservation

The Tiger Express, a seven day six night luxury rail and hotel journey created to raise awareness and funding for Malayan tiger conservation, will return in 2026. Relaunching through a partnership between Save Wild Tigers, The Eastern and Oriental Express by Belmond and Raffles Singapore, the experience offers a memorable route from Singapore to Malaysia that blends travel, culture and wildlife advocacy.

The journey begins with a stay at the historic Raffles Singapore, where guests attend a private screening of the film Dead Talk featuring British actor Ray Winstone. After a night in the hotel’s suites, travelers depart from Woodlands Station in Singapore to board The Eastern and Oriental Express by Belmond, which makes stops in Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Penang.

On the second day, guests experience the signature Southeast Asian design of the Belmond train, with polished cherry wood panels, vibrant Thai silk and Malaysian lace details. Scenic views of Malaysia’s rainforests accompany afternoon tea, followed by an exclusive dinner curated by chef André Chiang. The third day brings travelers to Merapoh Station for a visit to Taman Negara National Park, a one hundred and thirty million year old rainforest and one of the world’s oldest tropical ecosystems.

The fourth day continues with a stop in Penang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historic architecture, heritage homes and diverse cultural landmarks. Guests also explore the traditional craft of Malaysian batik and view striking wildlife photography from the Eye on the Tiger exhibition at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with insights from the exhibition curator.

The itinerary concludes with two nights at The Datai Langkawi, a resort located in a ten million year old rainforest overlooking one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Guests have the chance to observe wildlife such as dusky leaf monkeys, Tokay geckos and great hornbills, walk along private forest paths to a white sand beach, experience Malay inspired wellness treatments and enjoy sunset cocktails by the Andaman Sea.
