A New Four Day Journey Through Southern Taiwan Designed for Vietnamese Travelers

Southern Taiwan is now more accessible to Vietnamese travelers with a new four day three night itinerary introduced by the Taiwan Tourism Administration. The programme is designed to offer a deep and diverse experience of the region’s coastal scenery, cultural heritage and vibrant urban life. From the artistic character of Kaohsiung to the tropical beauty of Kenting and the historical depth of Tainan, the journey brings together the signature highlights of Southern Taiwan in one compact adventure.

Day One|Kaohsiung
The journey begins in Kaohsiung, the main gateway to Southern Taiwan. The first stops are the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas and Lotus Pond. These vivid lakeside landmarks reflect the rich colours of traditional beliefs and the distinct identity of the region. The next visit is Xizi Bay, a place where guests can enjoy sea breeze, open coastal views and the relaxed ambience of a southern port city.
In the afternoon, the itinerary continues to the Pier 2 Art Center, a creative district transformed from former warehouses. The open air installations, exhibitions and cafés create a lively and engaging atmosphere. When evening arrives, guests board a cruise to view Kaohsiung’s harbour. The city lights reflected on the water and the movement of ships create a memorable beginning to the trip.

Day Two|Kenting
The second day brings the group to Kenting, the most famous resort area in the far south of Taiwan. The first stop is Shengli New Village, a former military community shaded by old trees and filled with the architectural character of early era military settlements.
The highlight that follows is Kenting National Park, where mountain greenery, blue sea and dramatic coastal rock formations come together. At Eluanbi Lighthouse, guests can admire the panorama where the Pacific Ocean meets the Bashi Strait.
In the afternoon, the group relaxes at Nanwan Beach where fine white sand and clear turquoise water invite long hours of rest by the sea. As night falls, a walk through Kenting Night Market offers a lively scene of food stalls and shops, giving visitors a taste of southern nightlife.

Day Three|Kaohsiung and Tainan
The third day explores the connection between local faith, art and history. The morning begins at Fo Guang Shan, a grand Buddhist complex where impressive architecture and a peaceful atmosphere offer insight into Taiwanese religious culture. The next destination is the Chimei Museum, known for its European style architecture and extensive collections that feel like a palace dedicated to the arts.
In the afternoon, the group continues to Anping Old Town. Visits include the Anping Tree House, which is wrapped in vines, and the historic Anping Fort, reminders of early international trade and the cultural exchanges of the Dutch era. As sunset approaches, the narrow alleys and waterfront combine into a serene and nostalgic setting.

Day Four|Tainan
The final day focuses on the cultural foundations of Tainan. The first stop is the Tainan Confucius Temple, the earliest school in Taiwan where visitors can learn how Confucian values shaped Taiwanese society. This is followed by a visit to the Koxinga Shrine, dedicated to the historic figure who played a key role in the early development of Taiwan.
In the afternoon, the group explores the traditional salt fields including the Tile Paved Salt Fields and the Beimen Fan Shaped Salt Fields. Guests can enjoy hands on tofu making, appreciate the simplicity of local life and view the distinct landscape of Taiwan’s salt making heritage.
The final experience is Taijiang National Park. Its wetlands and rich ecosystems offer a calm and refreshing environment, creating a natural classroom and a peaceful end to the journey.

The four day exploration of Southern Taiwan concludes with lasting impressions of coastline, heritage sites and warm local culture.
This new itinerary combines urban character, historical depth, natural landscapes and everyday life, giving Vietnamese travelers a complete overview of Southern Taiwan in a short yet fulfilling journey.
The Taiwan Tourism Administration shared that additional themed itineraries will continue to be introduced so that visitors from Vietnam can create even more meaningful memories in Taiwan.
