Impeccable travel services. Thrilling experiences

Aviation Expansion Becomes a Strategic Catalyst for Da Nang Tourism

Da Nang is preparing for a breakthrough year in 2026 as new air routes and strategic aviation partnerships open opportunities to attract a broader mix of international travelers. Charter flights from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan launched in 2025 have laid the foundation for stronger connectivity, while upcoming routes are expected to drive both visitor growth and investment interest.

Expanding Access to Emerging Markets
In 2025, Da Nang introduced direct charter routes from Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan and from Tashkent in Uzbekistan with a combined frequency of sixteen flights per week. These routes significantly improved access from CIS markets and strengthened visitor flows into Central Vietnam.

The city plans to intensify collaboration with airlines and strategic partners to maintain and diversify these routes, including additional charter services from Russia and CIS countries.
ANEX Vietnam, the pioneer in bringing CIS charter flights to Da Nang, will expand its network in 2026 with a major Russia–Da Nang charter programme scheduled from April to October. The network connects fourteen major cities including Almaty, Astana, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok and several others.

Azur Air and Vietjet Air will operate wide-body aircraft including Boeing 767, Boeing 777 and Airbus A330. The routes are expected to reach up to seventy flights per month, bringing approximately thirteen thousand visitors with an average stay of ten nights or more.

In Da Nang, ANEX Vietnam plans to cooperate with over one hundred ten hotels across all categories to secure two thousand room nights per day. Popular attractions such as Ba Na Hills, Marble Mountains, Son Tra Peninsula, the Golden Bridge and Hoi An Ancient Town remain core highlights for travelers.

A Dual Engine for Tourism Growth
Nguyen Duc Quynh, Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association, emphasises that aviation connectivity is the decisive factor for tourism growth. He refers to new air routes as a “dual engine”, because international connections attract not only travelers but also global investors, hotel management groups and high-end service brands.

He notes that effective coordination between government authorities, tourism businesses and airlines is essential. Market policies, pricing, destination marketing and service capacity must operate in alignment for new routes to generate maximum impact.

Rising Flight Volume and Increasing International Demand
According to the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, the city currently handles roughly forty thousand flights per year, a twenty percent increase compared to 2024. International flights have grown by 6.4 percent while domestic flights increased by more than 23 percent. Da Nang International Airport continues to serve as a strategic aviation hub connecting major domestic cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang and Buon Ma Thuot.

The peak period from December 2025 to February 2026 records an average of 140 to 142 flights per day. Visitor arrivals from South Korea, Japan, Singapore and the Philippines rise sharply due to Christmas and New Year travel demand. This period is considered a prime opportunity for Da Nang to strengthen market outreach and destination promotion.

Da Nang aims to introduce one to two new international routes to Chu Lai Airport while maintaining and expanding its current network. The city will also enhance connections between domestic and international routes to increase the number of transit passengers, particularly from Northeast Asia, where flight capacity and tourism demand are both accelerating.

Strategic Outlook for 2026
The 2026 tourism stimulus programme will be implemented jointly with airlines, cruise operators and railway partners to diversify travel options and boost both domestic and international arrivals. With strengthened aviation infrastructure and multi-channel marketing initiatives, Da Nang is positioning itself as a leading destination in Southeast Asia, combining modern appeal with strong cultural identity.
